Lower Camp
|
Our lower camp program includes Juniors (finishing grades 3 & 4) & Middlers (finishing grades 5 & 6), and is designed to provide a traditional sleep-away camp experience with a strong musical emphasis. In addition to a full range of musical pursuits, lower camp life includes waterfront, sports and general camp activities.
Our lower campers come to us across a wide range of musical advancement, from beginner on up and we aim to provide a healthy balance of music and general camp activities. That actual balance is determined by a camper's instrument/vocal choices, their level of advancement and which optional activities they elect. Many lower campers return year after year, becoming Intermediates, Seniors, CITs and, eventually, staff members! BUDDIES—Our buddy program pairs seniors with lower campers for special buddy activities to help foster a sense of community between our oldest and youngest campers, and allows them all to take advantage of the broad age range we have at camp. Older campers develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility for the younger campers and younger campers get to forge relationships with our older campers - definitely a win-win for all! STACCATO—We offer a short "Staccato" session for first-time Juniors to give camp a try for the final two weeks of first session. This shorter session includes all aspects of the full camp program: lessons, rehearsals, activities—everything. 2017 dates for the Staccato session are Sunday, July 9 to Sunday, July 23. |
