Directors
Jamie Saltman was literally born into Encore/Coda in 1957, just a few years after his parents, Ruth and Phil Saltman, created the program in 1950. He has college degrees in music education and conducting and over 40 years' experience as a music teacher and camp director. In addition to camp work during the school year, he teaches piano at home in South Brookline, MA and plays professionally in the greater Boston area. Ellen Donohue-Saltman has been at Encore/Coda since she & Jamie got engaged in 1980. She has college degrees in political economy and French horn performance and over 38 years' experience as a music teacher and camp director. In addition to camp work during the school year, she teaches French horn in several Boston-area school systems as well as at home and plays professionally in the greater Boston area. |
Cara Bergantino began her time at camp in 2003 as an intermediate camper. Every year since then, she has returned to Encore/Coda as a senior camper, CIT, junior counselor, senior counselor, head counselor, and now assistant director. She has a college degree in music education with an emphasis on viola performance. Outside of camp, Cara works as a music teacher in Massachusetts in the Newton Public Schools, and as a private instructor. Cara also continues her work for Camp E/C in the off-season doing projects such as social media posting, video editing, recruiting, camp fairs, hiring, and administrative work. |
Andrew Neyer has been on head staff at camp since his first summer in 2009. Before that, he was the CIT director at Camp Chateaugay (Merrill, NY), and assistant director at Omni Camp (Poland, ME). He has undergraduate college degrees in music and mathematics/statistics and a graduate degree in math education. Outside of camp, Andrew is a full-timemath teacher at The Webb Schools in Claremont, CA. He has previously held teaching posts at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA, and the Leysin American School in Switzerland. |
