Jamie was literally born into Encore/Coda in 1957, just a few years after his parents, Ruth and Phil Saltman, created the program in 1950. He has college degrees in music education and conducting and over 30 years experience as a music teacher and camp director. In addition to camp work during the school year, he teaches piano at home in South Brookline, MA and plays professionally in the greater Boston area.

Ellen has been at Encore/Coda since she & Jamie got engaged in 1980. She has college degrees in political economy and french horn performance and over 28 years experience as a music teacher and camp director. In addition to camp work during the school year, she teaches french horn in several Boston area school systems as well as at home and plays professionally in the greater Boston area.
